CLEAR ALIGNERS

ORTHODONTICS WITH NAME AND SURNAME FOR MANY ORTHODONTICS: AMPARO LACASA

The so-called invisible orthodontics is a treatment that consists of the placement of a sequence of individualized and transparent aligners that correctly position the teeth.

The orthodontists Amparo Lacasa and Georgina Muela, certified by SPARK® and by INVISALIGN®, carry out a diagnostic study of the patient’s malocclusion and, through a digital program, it will be possible to visualize the evolution and final result of your treatment before starting it.

Advantages of clear aligners

AESTHETICS

Being a transparent material, it is practically invisible and mimics the teeth.

VERY COMFORTABLE

Firstly, because it works with very light forces and the discomfort it can generate is minimal. Secondly, because it is a very thin material, it is difficult for it to cause any injury.

TOTAL MOBILE

It is a completely removable system and therefore allows the patient to take it off during meals and be able to eat all kinds of food without restrictions.

DOES NOT CHANGE THE BRUSHING TECHNIQUE

Being a mobile system, it can be removed for brushing, thus avoiding the patient having to acquire a new technique.

DISPLAY OF THE FINAL RESULT

Once the doctors have studied the case, the patient will be able to observe, through the software, the evolution of his treatment as well as its final result.

Frequently asked questions about orthodontic treatment with clear aligners

It is currently such an advanced system that it allows treating practically all dental malocclusions. A minority of cases, however, may require a combined treatment with brackets, microscrews or minor surgeries.

An arthodontic treatment with clear aligners is a very good system for both adolescent and adult patients. For children, on the other hand, it is more advisable to use other types of orthodontics due to the risk of losing the aligners or of not using them responsibly (not wearing them all the stipulated hours).

22 hours a day. In other words, aligners are meant to be worn all day except when the patient is eating!

It will depend on each patient as well as the moment in which the treatment is but the time will vary between 7 and 15 days .

They are made of reinforced polyurethane, a transparent plastic material for medical use and exceptional aesthetics.

We recommend washing them every time you take them off with cold water and neutral pH soap. The use of toothpaste is not recommended as the plastic could lose its transparency. They also do not recommend immersing them in mouthwash as they could deteriorate. What does work very well is, once or twice a week, submerge them in water with an effervescent denture tablet while you eat.

We see patients every 4 weeks , especially at the beginning of treatment. Once the patient’s adaptation to the mechanics of the treatment has been resolved, and in particularly responsible patients, it can be spaced after 6 weeks, but the patient is never out of the dentist’s care.

It depends on the initial malocclusion. In most cases, the time will vary between a year and a half to two years . We will never go faster than the body is ready to take on.

You may feel a little temporary discomfort, like pressure, for the first two days when putting on a new aligner, but this is normal and a sign that the aligners are working well and your teeth are moving!

Speech is not affected by wearing aligners as they are very thin and perfectly adapted, so they do not cause any kind of problem.

Eating is also not a problem since the patient takes off the aligners and can eat without restrictions and brush their teeth well afterwards. Of course, immediately after brushing, the aligners have to be put back in!

It is not recommended to smoke with the aligners on , as they can become stained or discolored.
